QUESTION
How do I enable Remote Desktop
ANSWER
When trying to connect using Remote Desktop, the window changes to Remote Control.
Remote Desktop will only work when connecting to a Windows XP Professional computer or a Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 Server computer that has Terminal Services installed.
In order to enable Remote Desktop to connect to a Windows XP Professional machine, you must to enable Remote Access to that computer. In order to do this, follow these steps:
Right-click on My Computer and choose Properties
- Note: If you do not have the My Computer icon on your desktop, you can find it should be on the right side of the Start menu.
Click on the Remote tab
Place a check in the "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer."
Click on the Select Remote Users button and add your Windows logon alias to the window there.
Click Ok till you get back to the desktop
