How do I change the Laplink Everywhere Username used to access the Laplink Everywhere Host?

Why would you want to do this?
- You may desire to create a completely new Laplink Everywhere account for the host PC.
- You may need to re-assign your current Laplink Everywhere host to a different existing username.
AUTOMATIC REMOVAL
In order to assign a new or different Laplink Everywhere username to the host computer, follow these steps:- Close Laplink Everywhere on the host computer: right-click on the Laplink Everywhere icon in the system tray (down by the clock) and choose Exit.
- Click on the link below that matches the Windows version of the host computer:

For host computers running Windows 98 or Windows ME, Click here.
For host computers running Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows 2003, Click here. - Select Open or Run when prompted.
- Click Yes to import the information into the registry.
- Click Ok to the message that it has completed the import.
- Launch Laplink Everywhere by double-clicking on the Laplink Everywhere icon on your desktop.
- Your browser will then launch and be directed to the ll2go.com registration page.
- Carefully choose how to associate the Laplink Everywhere Host:
- To assign the computer to an existing Laplink Everywhere username, click on the “ Assign this PC” button. On the next page, type in the existing username, password, and specify a unique name for this PC.
- To create a new Laplink Everywhere username, click on the “ Create Account” button and fill out the form there.
MANUAL REMOVAL
If the above steps do not work, the following steps provide manual removal instructions. To assign a new or different Laplink Everywhere username to a host PC, you must remove the following Laplink Everywhere entries from the Windows registry:Note: Before making the following changes, make a backup of your registry. See Technical Document 111: How do I Backup and Restore the Windows Registry for more information. Alternatively for Windows XP users, see Technical Document 670: How to Create a Windows XP Restore Point.
- Right-click on the Laplink Everywhere icon in the system tray (down by the clock) and select Exit.
- From the Windows Start menu, click on Run.
- Type in REGEDIT and click OK. This will open up the Registry Editor.
- Open up the HKEY_Current_User folder by clicking the “ +” next to it.
- Click the “+” next to Software.
- Click the “+” next to Laplink.
- Click on FoneFiles.
- In the right hand window, delete the following entries: ConfigXML, DeviceID, UserID
- Close the Registry Editor.
- Launch Laplink Everywhere by double-clicking on the Laplink Everywhere icon on your desktop.
- Your browser will then launch and be directed to the ll2go.com registration page.
