After installing Laplink PCmover or Laplink PCsync from the PCmover Essentials package, you ware
unable to install the Windows Easy Transfer. When you try to do so, the following web page error
message comes up:
Please plug in the Windows Easy Transfer cable into any USB port on this computer.
To access Device Manager, use any of the following methods:
The Device Manager will be displayed similar to the screen below:
Using the mouse, click on the plus sign next to the entry labeled Laplink USB devices. The Device Manager will look similar to the screen below:
Place the mouse pointer over the device Windows Easy Transfer Cable and right-click on it to open a menu. Then left-click on the selection Uninstall.
A Confirm Device Removal dialog will appear.
Click OK.
Unplug the USB cable from this computer and close the Device Manager window.
Close this browser window before proceeding to the PCmover Essentials screen, select the Install Easy Transfer Software button.
Note: You must close this window to proceed.
