How do I configure Norton Personal Firewall 2005 to allow Laplink connections?

Solution
1. Open Norton Personal Firewall by double-clicking on its icon in the system tray. 2. Select Personal Firewall and click on the Configure button. 3. Select the Programs tab and click the Add button. 4. Open up the folder where Laplink is installed. By default this is C:\Program Files\Laplink Gold. Highlight Laplink here and click on Open. 5. Click Okay to allow Laplink access to the Internet. 6. Click on the Advanced tab and then click the General button. 7. Click on the Add button. 8. Ensure Permit is selected and click on OK. 9. Select Connections to and from other computers and click on Next. 10. Ensure Any Computer is selected and click on Next. 11. Select TCP for the protocol to permit. 12. Select Only the types of communication or ports listed below and click the Add button. 13. Select Individually specified ports and type in 1547 for the port number. Click OK. 14. Click Next. 15. If you want a log entry to be created each time a Laplink connection is made, select Create an event log entry. 16. Click Next. 17. Type in Laplink Rule for the description and click Next. 18. Click Next again and then click Finish. Norton Personal Firewall 2005 is now configured to allow Laplink connections.
