How do I connect to my remote computer?

Laplink Everywhere offers three ways to access your computer:

  • Laplink Toolbar
    The free Laplink Toolbar gives you one-click access to your PCs. With one click, you can remotely control your PC, remotely search and send files, access your PC’s e-mail , transfer and synchronize files. Find out more.
  • From your mobile phone
    Relax. You don’t need to rush back to the office to send that important file. From any mobile phone, search your remote PCs and forward files and e-mail directly from the search results. No matter where you are, you’re connected to your PCs through any mobile phone. Find out more.
  • From LLE5.LL2go.com
    Simply go to LLE5.LL2go.com from any web browser to bring your PCs to you. Using the same technology as internet banking, you can securely use any PC, public or private, to remotely access your PCs.

The Laplink Everywhere Host must be running on the computer you wish to connect to for a connection to be established. It is therefore advised to run the Host upon starting up your computer.

Laplink Everywhere Host is an application that must be installed on the computer you wish to access remotely. It acts as a host, allowing you to connect to the computer remotely through Laplink Toolbar, your mobile phone, or from any browser (LLE5.LL2go.com).

How do I access the Laplink Everywhere Host?

When the Host is running, the Laplink Everywhere icon will appear in the system tray.

Simply double click on the Laplink Everywhere icon in your system tray to open up the Host. Upon running the Laplink Everywhere Host for the first time, you will be prompted to create an account. The User Name must be unique. This account information will be used to sign in to Laplink Toolbar or  LLE5.LL2go.com (from your mobile phone or from any browser).

 

What Laplink Everywhere options can I set?

You have numerous options that can be set in the Host. These application options include settings related to security, Remote Control, and e-mail configuration. If you would like to provide other Laplink Everywhere users access to your PC, select ‘Add User’. You can then choose the level of access granted to the user by clicking ‘Edit Access’.

What is Laplink Toolbar?

Laplink Toolbar is an Internet Explorer Toolbar that can be installed on any computer for one-click access to your remote computer. All you have to do is to sign in to your account and choose the computer you wish to access.  It's that simple.

  • Manage
    Begin by signing in to your Laplink Everywhere account. Enter the User Name and Password that you created during the installation and registration of your Host PC. You will also be able to manage all your account information here.
  • List of Host Computers
    All your Host Computers registered to your Laplink Everywhere account are listed here. You will only be able to connect to computers running Host. Choose the computer you wish to access, connect to it, and select from the following features to meet your needs.
  • Search
    Search and locate files easily on the remote computer. You can download the file, send the file as an e-mail attachment, or send it as a secure download link directly from the search results.
  • Files
    Explore the remote computer’s directories. You can download and upload files and folders, send files as e-mail attachments or send it as a secure download link.
  • Desktop
    Connect to your remote computer via Remote Desktop Control or Laplink Screen Sharing and use it just as if you were sitting in front of it.
  • E-mail
    Access your e-mail to reply or create new e-mails. You can also view and edit your Outlook Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes.
  • Favorites
    Access all your bookmarks on the remote computer and visit any of your favorite sites directly from your local browser.

 

How do I reposition Laplink Toolbar?

To reposition Laplink Toolbar, simply click on the left edge of the toolbar and drag it to your desired location. To lock the toolbar, right click on it and select ‘Lock the Toolbars’. This will ensure that Laplink Toolbar will not be moved in the future.  To unlock it, repeat this same procedure but deselect ‘Lock the Toolbars’ within the menu list.

What is LLE5.LL2go.com?

LLE5.LL2go.com is a Web site that allows you to access your computer without having to install any additional software. This Web site can be accessed either from your mobile phone or from any Web browser. Simply point your browser to LLE5.LL2go.com and sign in to your account. A mobile version of the Web site is automatically displayed if you access it from your mobile phone.

How do I set up more accounts?

Laplink Everywhere lets you set up several different accounts that can be used to access a shared computer. To do so, please follow the following instructions:

  • Download Laplink Everywhere from www.laplink.com/lle5/download.html or LLE5.LL2go.com
  • Install on a computer that does not already have Laplink Everywhere Host installed.
  • Run the Host.
  • The Host will guide you through the account setup process.

 

How do I add more computers to my list of accessible computers?

If you have several computers that you want to make available for remote connection via Laplink Everywhere, please following the chart below to determine your course of action:

Double-click on the Laplink Everywhere icon in your system tray to open up the Host. Click 'Add User' and enter your user name. The computer will appear in your list of accessible computers the next time you sign in.

How do I upgrade my account?

Laplink Everywhere comes available as a Full version or a free Limited version. The Full version gives you all the tools you need to satisfy your remote access needs.  Key features include  remote control, folder synchronization, and upload/download of files. The Limited version does not include these features but still offers access to Internet Favorites and Desktop search. From search results, you still have the ability to send a file as an e-mail attachment.

The Full version of Laplink Everywhere is offered free of charge for 30 days. Once the trial period has expired, Laplink Everywhere will revert to the Limited version. Simply purchase an upgrade to reactivate the Full version.
