Upgrading from Laplink Everywhere 4 to Laplink Everywhere 5
Laplink Everywhere 5 (LLE5) provides you with one-click remote access to your PCs, along with an
entirely revamped user interface offering the fastest tools to access your PCs. If you would like
to find out more about all the new features in Laplink Everywhere 5, please click
here.
Upgrading from Laplink Everywhere 4 (LLE4) to Laplink Everywhere 5 is FREE! Please follow the
instructions to complete your upgrade.
IMPORTANT - Upgrade Notes
- You will need to set up your Laplink Everywhere Host PC(s) after the upgrade. Your existing
User Name and Password for your Laplink Everywhere account will continue to work when signing in to
LLE5. However, any unique settings created in LLE4 will need to be set up again in LLE5. For
example, prior to the upgrade, you should make note of:
1. All your PC Names and associated Laplink Everywhere PC
Serial #(s):
- Visit
https://www.LL2go.com and Login.
- Click the
My Account tab.
- In the
Your PCs section and below the
PC Serial # column, click
Unassign. Click
Submit to confirm. Make note of the PC Name and Serial Number. Repeat
this step for each PC. The URC Serial #(s), if present, do
not need to be unassigned. This account information
will automatically transfer along with your PC Serial #.
2. Any additional Users you created to allow access to your PC(s).
- Laplink Everywhere 5 no longer supports Windows 9x, Me, or 2000 on the Host PC. Laplink Secure
VNC is no longer supported either.
- The
Remote Control 4 feature in Laplink Everywhere 4 (LLE4) is
now
Laplink Screen Sharing in Laplink Everywhere 5 (LLE5). If
you use Remote Control 4, your User Name and Password for signing in to this particular service
will not be valid for Laplink Screen Sharing. When signing in to Laplink Screen Sharing, just enter
the same User Name and Password you use to log on to Windows.
