LapLink Inc., the world leader in file transfer and synchronization today announced that sales of
their latest release of PCsync version 2.0 have increased 165% for the period of the first sixty
days since its release when compared to sales of version PCsync version 1.0 in its first sixty
days.
LapLink introduced PCsync 2.0 to the marketplace on May 1, 2001, six months after the first
version. LapLink has added new features to PCsync 2.0; such as web access via Surf Up, MP3 file
transfer and management via MusicMover as well as PC personality and file migration via PCMover.
"We have been overwhelmed by the positive reception of PCSync 2.0 by our customers, said Todd
Rupley, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for LapLink. "Sales are up and
customers are transferring files at a dramatic rate."
In addition to brisk sales, the number of networked file transfers has been doubling each
month. Since the release of PCsync 2.0 customers have successfully transferred over one
million files from one user's computer to another via a networked connection. PCsync 2.0
supports LAN and internet connections, as well as includes a serial cable and an USB cable in the
offering.
"More and more customers are realizing the limitations of sending large files via email and
are looking for a fast, easy and secure means for transferring files," said Mark Eppley, Founder
and CEO of LapLink.
File sizes are continuing to grow with the increased number of consumers wanting to share
digital photos, digital music, and large files with their colleagues, friends and family. Customers
have quickly grasped the benefits of transferring files via the network.
