Why should I renew my Anti-Spyware subscription?

Traditionally, spyware removal is handled the same way as virus removal. When a piece of software is identified as spyware, its signature is recorded in a database of known spyware signatures. PCdefense compares signatures found on the PC with a database and allows the user to quarantine or delete the offending software.

The anti-spyware industry has identified approximately 100,000 spyware signatures at this writing. Like anti-virus software, anti-spyware software must be frequently updated, as more spyware signatures are constantly being identified by anti-spyware makers, and unfortunately, created by spyware makers.

Renewing your subscription will allow PCdefense to stay up to date with the most recent spyware threats or outbreaks and keep you and your PC safe.

How to Renew your Anti-spyware Subscription

Please follow these steps after you have completed your Anti-spyware renewal purchase:

1. Purchase a renewal subscription to Anti-spyware above. When your purchase is complete, you will receive a new serial number and must replace the serial number provided by your original purchase.
2. Access your new product serial numbers from one of three locations:
3. • The final confirmation web page at the end of your online purchase.
     
   • In your purchase confirmation email.
     
   • From your Laplink support account, access My Downloads.
     
4. Once you have your serial numbers, start PCdefense and navigate to the Spyware Scan pane from the application's control panel.
   
5. Click on Run Spyware Scan and you should see the following dialog:
   
6. Click Register Serial Number and fill out the following form.  Note that if this product was purchased online, the email address you enter must be the same as the address used for the purchase. 
   
7. Click OK.
