Helpful Hints
- Any reference to “old” (or “source”) PC is referring to your PC before you install Windows 7.
- Any reference to “new” (or “destination”) PC is referring to your PC after you install Windows 7.
- Be sure your hard drive has sufficient free space to install Windows 7. If you have more than 20 GB of space, you are not likely to have any problem.
- Because you will need to reinstall PCmover after installing Windows 7, be sure it is accessible – on a CD, USB flash drive, or saved to C:\PCmover.
- Print out and carefully follow the user guide (below).

Warning: Because installing Windows 7 is irreversible, it is recommended that you create an “ image” of your PC in its current state and save to an external drive. This will allow you to restore your PC (in case of problems or dissatisfaction with Windows 7) or access this “archive” to retrieve any data that currently exists on your PC. Learn More »
