 QUESTION
Which features of Laplink Gold work over the Internet?
 ANSWER
Laplink Gold can establish a connection via the internet just as if it was a local network or cable connection, except the computer can be thousands of miles away. In order to do this, modifications may be required to the router and firewall on the Host machine. See the Technical Document 633: Overview for Configuring a Firewall or Router to Allow Laplink Connections.
Note: With an upgrade to Laplink Gold 12, you can securely access your host computer via our new Laplink Internet service. This service allows for a connection between the computers over the internet, but does not require you to modify most routers or firewalls. See the Laplink Gold 12 Product Overview page for more information.
