Laplink Gold 11.5 - FAQ's
QUESTION
What are the security options in Laplink Gold for remote control or transferring files?
ANSWER
You can control access to your PC's drives and folders with Folder-Level Security. You can protect your data during transmissions with Multi-Level Encryption (including Microsoft's CryptoAPI support). You can block repeated attempts to guess your password with Case-Sensitive Passwords and Lockout Protection. You can use our Address Book to build an Access Control List for those with permission to access your PC.
Folder-Level Security — You have full control over which drives and folders are accessible to other users. Grant different privileges to different users depending on the level of access they require.
Multi-Level Encryption — Laplink Gold includes Microsoft's CryptoAPI interface as well as LapLink's proprietary encryption.
Variable Port and IP address allocation — For added security Laplink Gold now allows you to manually change your port number and IP address.
Lockout Protection — Guard against unauthorized access to your PC. Thwart anyone who makes repeated attempts to guess a password from entry to your computer.
Case-Sensitive Passwords — Add another reassuring layer of protection.
